Lorie Thomas, DO

Dr. Lorie Thomas has been caring for women for more than 20 years as a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She has been interested in aesthetic services for nearly the same amount of time.

Dr. Thomas realized that people were leaving the community for their skincare products and anti-aging treatments. Once employed by BVHS, Dr. Thomas was challenged to develop the concept of a medical spa that the hospital would support.

On January 24, 2017, Beyond MedSpa opened its doors! The facility offered men and women treatments that would enhance their general medical care and “complete” their total medical care by treating their outer self.

Dr. Thomas was born in Elyria, OH. She attended Mount Union College (Alliance, OH), graduated from Jacksonville University (Jacksonville, FL) and obtained her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Ohio Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (Athens, OH). She completed her obstetrics/gynecologic residency at St. Vincent Medical Center (Toledo, OH) and was board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 2000.

Dr. Thomas specializes in pelvic prolapse surgery, endometriosis, pelvic pain, aesthetic medicine and laser and complex robotic surgery. She was named a master surgeon by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and assisted in the initiation of the robotics program at BVHS.

Her hobbies include scrapbooking, traveling, camping, kayaking, photography, hiking, fishing, birdwatching and shoe/purse shopping. She also enjoys spending quality time with her fiancée, Matt, whom she reconnected with at her  30th high school class reunion and her son, Zach, currently attending Ohio State University.

One of Dr. Thomas’ most rewarding “client moments” was being able to assist a cancer patient with her hair loss and improve skin changes that were caused by stress and cancer treatments.

“When we can enhance our physical appearance it, in turn, boosts self-confidence. That is why I am so proud of the work we do here at Beyond MedSpa,” noted Dr. Thomas

Subhash Patel, MD

Although Dr. Patel is not a native of Findlay, OH, he proudly states that he has “lived in this community longer than anywhere else in the world!”

After receiving his basic education in India, Dr. Patel immigrated to the USA in 1979 where he received his surgical training in the United States. He studied general surgery in Pontiac, Michigan and plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota).

After serving seven years in the United States Air force as a surgeon, he came to Findlay in 1994 and fulfilled the needs of plastic surgery in the community. Currently, Dr. Patel is providing an array of services to Beyond MedSpa clients (Findlay and Bluffton locations).

Dr. Patel enjoys interacting with people from “all walks of life.” He admittedly takes pride in his work and wants each client’s experience to be a positive one. In addition to the services provided at Beyond Medspa, he looks forward to caring for the needs of skin cancer patients as well as tending to cosmetic and plastic surgery patients on the Bluffton Hospital campus.

In his spare time, Dr. Patel likes to go walking and experience nature. He especially enjoys visiting with his children, grandson, and other family members. He and his family have also served on several medical missions in other countries.
